Bakery Paper Co.

est. 2023

not a real company

The Bakery is an umbrella thematically uniting papermaking, bookbinding and printing processes. All processes are accessible: both in their execution and in the product price point. By producing multiples with inexpensive, everyday tools and materials, the small-batch kitchen provides a framework for my own ideas surrounding labor, creativity, the art market, class, talent, production values, the power of food to bring people together, and whatever else happens to be on my mind in a given day.

I'm in search of a pop-up location to present the Bakery as an installation or residency project. You can see more of the process at Bakery Paper on instagram:

Handmade Paper

Using 3D printed paper molds designed by the artist, the Bakery recycles paper from various sources to create works of art that are unique and affordable.

Kitchen Lithography

Invented by artist Émilie Aizier in 2011, kitchen litho relies on the relationship between oil and water used in other printing methods, and is a way to create reproductions of drawings in ink without a press with common household supplies like coca-cola, aluminum foil, vegetable oil, and a wooden spoon. No harsh chemicals are used.
