Barricade Wheatpasting

In the Summer of 2020, the Downtown Longmont Development Authority and the City of Longmont installed concrete barricades along Main St to establish larger outdoor seating and retail areas. Various artists were paid to decorate them, and I chose to experiment with painted paper wheatpasted in a colorful pattern. I experimented with using various types of paper: book pages and craft drawing paper. As time passed and the paper peeled from the concrete I went back and painted gold acrylic paint wherever the cracks were showing.
